Soulful Balance Counselling and Therapy

We all face difficulties and barriers, both internally and externally, that can be difficult to overcome or face alone. Despite the fact that life can be difficult and painful at times, it is possible to achieve and experience joy, excitement and a sense of fulfillment. In fact, I believe that people are incredibly resilient. Given the right support and coping strategies, humans are able to overcome even the most challenging obstacles.

 

Soulful Balance Therapy provides counselling and therapy services to individuals and couples in Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton and surrounding areas. As a social worker and therapist, I work with clients who are struggling with a variety of life’s challenges, including:

  • Perinatal grief or loss (including miscarriage, stillbirth, and termination)
  • Stress
  • Anxiety/depression
  • Relationship issues
  • Work-life balance
  • Self-esteem issues
  • Life transitions
  • Grief/bereavement
  • Goal setting

My goal is to provide each client with a safe and non-judgemental environment where they can share their experiences, explore, and gain a deeper understanding of themselves. Through various forms of therapy, I help clients start anew and become aware of their full potential. By the time clients approach me, they are typically:

  • Ready for change in their lives
  • In need of new coping strategies
  • Open to creative collaboration
  • Ready to laugh when the mood strikes – even if it’s during a therapy session

Is Active Therapy Right for You?

I draw from an eclectic range of therapeutic approaches to address my clients’ therapy goals. Together we’ll decide which approach fits best with you and the difficulties you might be dealing with. For some, this may include active therapy, a method of incorporating physical and outdoor activity to enhance their physical, social and psychological well-being. Essentially, active therapy is a fancy way of telling you I like to take my sessions outside where my client and I can talk freely and openly as we walk through nature. I have seen, first hand, the difference activity therapy can make in my clients' lives and highly recommend it for those who are willing and able. You may be surprised at how far less intimidating it makes this whole therapy thing seem!
